Elba is an island in Tuscany, Italy, 20 km (12 miles) from the coastal town of Piombino. It is the largest island of the Tuscan Archipelago and the third largest island in Italy after Sicily and Sardinia. 

Elba is one of the best places to dive in the mediterranean sea; 99% are boat dives.  You can see a lot of different fish including wrasses, baraccudas & groupers.  In summer, sun fish, eagle rays. sponches, seafans, small red coralls are also visible.

• The Elviscot - this is one of the few shore dives on Elba.  The wreck lies on the seabed 12 meters deep. The ship sank in 1972 after a violent sea storm pushed it ashore.  This is an easy dive thanks to the moderate depth that brings brightness and transparency to the dive site.
• Formiche della Zanca - one of the finest dive sites on the northern coast of the Island of Elba. A group of emerging rocks, the underwater part of which is an amazingly scenic seabed with various routes for the diver.
• Scoglietto of Portoferraio -  Just outside the bay of Portoferraio there is a small isle: the seabed beneath it is made of a large variety of natural formations and, especially in spring, there are shoals of pelagic fish, such as silver amberjacks.
