Indian Ocean

The warmest ocean in the world . . . . .
Overview:

The Indian OceanDream castaway islands, exquisite luxury, pristine beaches fringed with swaying palms and crysal clear waters .... welcome to the Indian Ocean.

The islands of the Indian Ocean are a varied collection, including many of the smallest territories.  Many hug the coastlines of continents; others must be sought out hundreds of miles from any other land.  But, the one thing they have in common, was being affected by the tsunami of Boxing Day 2004, ranging from remarkable waves to inundation.

The Indian Ocean offers diving for all levels, a varied underwater topography from vast underwater volcanic mountain ranges to huge granite boulders covered with soft corals and sponges.

What to see:
Whales sharks: Seychelles, Maldives
Manta Rays: Maldives, Lakshadweep Islands, India
Wrecks: Sri Lanka
Shore diving: Maldives

Dolphin Base - Big Disappointment  Dolphin Base, Maldives 1 Star Rating Added: 30th March 2012 by lix3512
Dived with Dolphin Base beginning of 2012 at Ayada Maldives. Was not happy with the service. When we signed up, the wait was long. The instructor seemed impatient and very aggressive when trying to sell us a DSD. The facilities were below par. Classrooms were dirty. Bathroom was dirty. The...
The worst fleet absorbed by the largest, worse fleet  Aggressor Fleet, Galapagos Islands 1 Star Rating Added: 23rd February 2012 by racerbruce
I can say without a moments hesitation, that The Aggressor is the most incompetent, and overblown ripoff on the oceans and seas. Crap rundown gboats, dangerous dive practices, and owners that were absolutely abysmal to deal with. Boats that need dry dock repair are pitched to the unsuspecting consumer as...
Still not there  Goa Diving, India 1 Star Rating Added: 9th February 2012 by jb2006
I finally made it to try scuba diving in India. I have dived extensively around the world but never in India despite having been there more than 10 times because of work. The reason I never tried is that I didn't think India have the diver culture as many other...
Good diving!  Atlantis Diving Center, Mauritius 4 Star Rating Added: 6th February 2012 by Maiskis
The staff was friendly and professional. Briefing was good and you can get a personal scubareviews and your own instructor if you need to. We had our own equipment with us, so no need to rent those kind of wearout-looking rental gears. Instructors did a good job showing all the specialities of...
Dangerous Diving on the Orion  Orion, Maldives 1 Star Rating Added: 27th January 2012 by Nadiamulla
Our experience on board the Orion. Boat: Good points: spacious, good jaccuzi, clean, excellent service regarding food and bar services, nice size room with good shower/toilet facility. Bad points: AC did not work in the room with temps. of around 29-30 degrees, promised to fix it, but never happened. Overlooked by the diving...
Orion nightmare  Orion, Maldives 1 Star Rating Added: 19th January 2012 by chicagodiver
We travelled halfway around the world to experience a world-class, luxury liveaboard with the Orion. It may have been an off week, but the experience was extremely disappointing and at times dangerous. Some of the more major issues: up to 10 divers with 1 guide; at least 5 divers put...
Amazing Experience for Less Cost  Intoscuba (Into Scuba), Maldives 5 Star Rating Added: 2nd January 2012 by cmcraith
Our group booked a dive with IntoScuba based on a recommendation from our hotel. Out of the seven of us, only one had ever gone scuba diving before so we wanted a place that gave good instruction. We are also students, so finding a lower price was also important to...
