Middle East and Red Sea

The Red Sea, one of the most famous diving destinations in the world . . .
Overview:

Scubadviser - Sharm el SheikhThis is due to the good visibility (almost all year round) and the beautiful coral formations.  The  high salinity of the Red Sea (more water is lost through evaporation than enters from precipitation) means that the water retains heat.

The Red Sea has a very well established dive industry which, when it became popular some decades ago, resorts in Egypt were the busiest.  However, recently, Jordan and Sudan have begun to outstrip them.

The Northern Red Sea was included in the Seven Underwater Wonders of the World by CEDAM International. The CEDAM acronym stands for: Conservation, Education, Diving, Awareness, Marine-Research.  In 1989 CEDAM brought together a panel of distinguished marine scientists to pick underwater areas which they considered to be worthy of protection.

What a great week!  Blue Fin, Egypt 4 Star Rating Added: 23rd April 2012 by jackierals
Was more than happy with the boat however, she is like a lot of the others in the Red Sea. But the staff on this boat were head & shoulders above the others I have been on (2 other companies). Dive guides, dive crew & the boat staff were all...
A dive centre beyond the ordinary  Dive Point Red Sea - Rotana Coral Beach Hotel, Hurghada 5 Star Rating Added: 22nd April 2012 by asvard
I fully agree with previous posts; Dive Point is quality in every aspect of the word. Furthermore, what sets them apart from every other dive centre I have visited is their ambition to make my stay with them as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. My every need is met, any...
Good Dive Centre  Inmo Divers Home, Dahab 4 Star Rating Added: 11th April 2012 by HippoVince
Enjoyed diving here - very nice centre and accomodation, friendly people and a professional set up. We needed a check dive and this was carefully carried out and there was a general high level of concern for safety. The organisation of the transport and kit for the dives was good and...
Don't book with anyone else!  Elite Diving, Egypt 5 Star Rating Added: 10th April 2012 by NatWick
Just returned from an amazing week of diving with Elite. They cater for all abilities and keep the dive group small. The boat and crew are fantastic and there were a lot of laughs all round. I will definitely be going back and cannot recommend them highly enough.
Bad Experience in Oman, dont go to Omanta  Omanta Scuba, Middle East & Red Sea 1 Star Rating Added: 2nd April 2012 by rameshladwa
Did my original PADI OD with Mr Stan Berlin, and it went well using the Intercon Hotel Pool, First few dives were good with Graham, who has moved on as of April 2012. Now comes the disapointing bit, the owner/divemaster, Stan Berlin, is not only a bit lazy, overwieght and a...
Another great week  Emperor Elite, Egypt 4 Star Rating Added: 31st March 2012 by Siobhan
After my first week on Blue Fin I transferred to Emperor Elite to complete the South and St Johns itinerary. Csaba and Daniella, the dive guides were superb. From the moment we arrived at the boat they were attentive to every need and so very friendly and professional, with safety...
Fabulous Week  Blue Fin, Egypt 4 Star Rating Added: 31st March 2012 by Siobhan
This was the first time I had dived with anyone else but Emperor in the Red Sea. I had the most amazing week aboard Blue Fin. The staff were just superb. Helped you out all the time. We wanted for nothing during the week - well, apart from the weather/wind...
