Qatar is an Arab emirate in Southwest Asia, occupying the small Qatar Peninsula on the northeasterly coast of the larger Arabian Peninsula. It is bordered by Saudi Arabia to the south; otherwise the Persian Gulf surrounds the state. The capital is Doha.
The average temperatures during the summer range from 38C to 42C during the day and 18C at night, while winter temperatures are 34C during the day and 10C at night.
The people of Qatar are friendly and make visitors feel very welcome. Arabic is the official language, although English is widely used. Qatar is an Islamic state, which guides not only the religious beliefs of Qataris but also plays a large part in daily living.
There are six sites on land by Mesaieed city and Khor Al Udeid (Inland Sea) with depths ranging from 6m to 20m and a number of sites offshore. These are the sites at Khor Al Udeid, most of them accessible with a 4x4.
- Old Club Reef - a man-made reef, just before Sealine Beach Resort. An easy shore dive, the average depth is 40 feet, you'll be treated to sunken buses, cars, toilets, bidets, and more. Visibility isn't great but, on a good day, you can see around 20 feet.

The dive sites offshore include boat wrecks such as M/O Wreck, Macadeen, Barclays and Jezan, with an average depth between 14m and 30m. There are also some sunken oil rigs in the Qatari waters apart from some very nice dive sites at Al Khor, Balhambar wreck (close to Al Khor) and Tech El Dan wreck (a big boat that sunk near Ruwais).
