Family Friendly Diving!
Visit Date: July 2009
Having done a try-dive with a local dive 'centre' that seemed to be working out of the back of a van, it was really nice to walk into a true dive centre that took me seriously, listened to my needs and recommended the course that was right for me. I signed up for the Nat G course, bought high quality dive gear - that is still going strong two years later - and, as time went on, brought my kids along so they could share in the fun.
This really is a family friendly dive centre. Dive with confidence. Dive with SSC!

Five Star Training!!
Visit Date: September 2011
Steve, Val and the whole team of divemasters were amazing throughout our training. All the way through we felt in safe, capable hands. The pool sessions were well structured and you really felt you were making progress towards our PADI. All the time in the water we were carefully monitored and supported - we had almost 1:1 support the entire time!! The rental gear was excellent and the atmosphere around the school was really friendly. Overall, can't recommend them enough as a training school.

Sunderland Scuba Centre
Visit Date: September 2008
I have dived with Sunderland Scuba for about 4 years now, my partner has gone through her Open Water and Advanced training with them and we are now both starting on our Rescue course. We have nothing but praise for this very well organised, skilled and above all friendly group. As well as the formal side of the training the staff and members of the dive club are always willing to go that extra mile to help and pass on the benefits of their many years of diving experiences. We would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone looking to get involved in this wonderful sport.

Best in the North
Visit Date: August 2010
My girlfriend and I came across SSC after looking around some of the other dive cenes in the North East so she could complete a scuba review before we went on holiday & I'm glad I did. The tuition was so good, staff we friendly and attentive & my girlfriend came away feeling so confident that as soon as we got back from holiday we went straight in and booked our AOW course. This also proved to be a great choice, & the staff were great again. First class tuition & one of them even got back into the freezing water so I could finish & get certified before the winter came.
Since then I've gone on to complete an equipment specialism & (almost) completed my rescue course, after which I'll be aiming for DM.
My girlfriend has become involved with the Diva's which is an all female diving group, part of the dive centre. This has done both of us the world of good, it's meant she's continued to grow in confidence, while at the same time I'm no longer feeling I need to constantly keep an eye on her, so don't have to worry about her any more. Our dives as a buddy pair are now even more enjoyable.
we've also gone on regular boat trips with SSC, the Monday evenings, as well as St Abbs, and most recently the Farnes & every trip has been an absolute joy. You can tell that the staff are constantly evaluating the conditions, your safety & the safety of everyone on the boat, it's unobtrusive unrestrictive & yet completely professional
I'm very reassured by the constant professionalism, the friendly open atmosphere, the general inclusion & have been inspired to take my diving to the next level, rather than remain a holiday only Diver.
