Fantastic diving in SAI
Visit Date: January 2009
We just returned from San Andres Island (Jan 29-Feb 5 2009) where we spent a terrific week diving with Werner at Karibik Diver.
First off I have to say thanks to Werner for the fantastic experience! I'm a relatively new diver and he encouraged me to take my time and proceed with the dive at my own pace. Werner dove with us for the first couple of days untill we (I) felt more comfortable and then let us go about our dives. He was always close by though, pointing out interesting animals and checking in with us.
We did 11 dives over the course of 5 days (2 a day and then 1 night dive to finish off). San Andres has beautiful reefs and a huge variety of marine life. We saw everything from a nurse shark to tiny arrow crabs. Every dive we saw something new.
The night dive was a huge highlight for me. It was filled with fish I had never seen before and the 'fireflies' - underwater biolumenescent creatures that lit up as you waved your hand.
One of the things that Werner stresses is that he wants you to enjoy the WHOLE experience, and I have to say he makes it easy to enjoy your time with him! He literally took care of every little detail for us. From the taxi rides to and from the resort, to dive computers and equipment, to arranging a vegetarian lunch for me at local restaurants, he took care of us. The only thing I had to do is dive. He even met us at the airport to welcome us!
If you are going to dive while you are on the island, check out Werner. You won't regret it!
