Bicheno Dive Centre

For the divers who have been to Bicheno (pronounced “bish-eno”), and have fond memories of some of the older dives (Golden Bommies, The Castle, Bird Rock, Muirs Rock to name just a few) there are many more being discovered by visiting divers on exploratory trips. Have you heard of "Guinea Pig"? No! It is a towering granite boulder just 1.5 metres below the surface down to 30 metres with swim thru's surrounding the base. The only thing wrong with this dive is you will have to move all the fish away to see the sponges and sea whips in their full splendor.

Colourful coral gardens teeming with life, playful wrasses and frequent sightings of dolphins and whales on the way home, that’s the kind of day you can expect diving on either Calypso or Pure Dive diving on the edge of the outer Barrier Reef. The dedicated diving boat Pure Dive visits remote and pristine northern reefs and ribbon reefs 3 times a week.
Cairns Seastar Reef Cruises

For the experienced diver there are the “3 Sisters”, 3 magnificent coral heads sitting out on the edge of this reef in 18 metres of water. Recent restrictions imposed at Michaelmas Cay, now means many boats can no longer access this area and what was a very popular dive site is at present seldom used. Seastar is one of a handful that can still visit here. This is a well liked dive it offers deep water, picturesque and interesting coral formations and being on the edge the possibility of seeing large turtles, manta rays or even a reef shark close by.
