great crew - interesting dives
Visit Date: March 2013
This was my third agressor experience ( belize & turks and caicos).
The food was fabulous. The crew were friendly & professional. The night dives were unique! We did the manta night dive twice on the Agressor.
My only real criticism of the boat is that they need to have a brighter light array (the lights attract the plankton, which, in turn, attracts the mantas).
We did a pelagic dive - they go out about 2 miles, where the water is 6,000 feet deep - you hang at about 25' and watch all the glowing critters that come by - quite the show. There were lots of nudibranchs.
The nature of diving on kona is that the sites are all real close to the shore, so surge is an issue.
The other review is bunk. Aggressor is very clear on their cancellation policy & encourages cancellation insurance - you make a decision - live with it
I would recommend.

This Company is TERRIBLE
Visit Date: April 2012
I booked a week long live aboard dive trip on the Kona Agressor 2. Departure Date was end of Febuary, I booked one month in advance. Shortly after booking my trip I learned that 1.) I have a high risk pregnancy- diving is not reccomended and 2.) I must maintain hospital access which is not possible on this particular live aboard.
I called Aggressor Fleet asking if it would be possible for me to postpone the trip, reschedule, or have a portion of my deposit back. They were extremely inflexible. They advised me to cancel my trip through the dive insurance company they recommended "Dive Assure".
I had to book a hotel last minute for a week in Kona and spend the trip alone by myself because my husband went ahead and went on the boat.
I had the opportunity to meet the captain and crew as I said "farewell" to my husband. I asked the captain (Mike?) if I could borrow a snorkel and mask for the week.. I thought this was a reasonable request because I had already lost thousands of dollars to this company, I thought it was the least they could do. He was rude and told me "no".
I just got a call from the company that processs dive assure's insurance claims. The woman was extremely apologetic. She said that *UNLIKE MOST INSURANCE COMPANIES OF THIS TYPE* Dive Assure excludes high risk pregnancy from their policy.
It was physically/medically impossible for me to go on this trip. .. As a woman it infuriates me that my medical insurance for this dive trip was useless and that my treatment from the Agressor corporation was poor.
When I picked up my husband from his trip he described his overall experience on this live aboard as "mediocore".
Do yourself and avoid "Aggressor", book with a reputable dive company.
