Sun Dancer II

5 Star Rating  from 3 reviews

Cruising the atolls of Belize, Sun Dancer II, at 138 feet, brings yet another dimension to luxury liveaboards.

Sun Dancer IIAll of the magnificent staterooms have individual air-conditioning controls and most have picture window views.  Also one of the most spacious yachts in Peter Hughes' Dancer Fleet, Sun Dancer II has plenty of area to relax and hang out…offering a large wet bar on the Lido Deck, a big covered and uncovered sun deck and of course, the beautiful and comfortable air-conditioned salon.

Sun Dancer II Belize

5 Star Rating

Visit Date: December 2012

Just back from a fantastic week of diving aboard the Sun Dancer II in Belize. A great crew made for a week of memorable diving and a positive fun atmosphere when on deck. Great trip for those who want to dive - up to 5 dives on most days. Diving is from dive deck on the back of the boat, excellent entry from large platform and two sets of stairs for effortless exits. Post dive warm/hot showers (one on each side), WARM towels and freshly baked treats make each dive a pleasure. Accommodations were excellent, lots of room. Food outstanding! Boat very clean and spacious. What made the trips so great? - the friendly approachable crew that were always available to help out or chat. All crew took turns diving with the group. As far as what you see - fantastic numbers of fish and critters to fill up your hard disk in no time. Seems to have the best of Little Cayman, Cozumel and Bonaire all in one week - great viz, walls, clean reefs, sand, rubble, grass beds. DEFINITELY a trip I can see doing every couple years. Thanks to everyone on board to helped make this such a memorable week!!

Spoiled for dive boats after cruising with Sun Dancer II

5 Star Rating

Visit Date: October 2012

I had the most amazing week with the Sun Dancer II out of Belize City. The dives were amazing. The crew was beyond amazing. Food was amazing. I was not nearly as experienced as most of the other divers, but I felt safe all the time, even on the night dives. For my first ever ocean night dive, the DM John stayed right with me and we saw lots of cool stuff. The dive deck is well set up. They put your fins on for you before you jump in and unless you came up really early, when you come up to the ladder, the DM would be there to to take your fins off and hand them up. I thought that seemed over the top at first, but I got used to it pretty quick. Then help hanging up your gear, hot showers on the dive deck, and a warm towel fresh out of the drier for you. The towel was often wrapped around you and accompanied by a quick little back and neck massage. In between the four or five dives a day, there were hot snacks and meals. A choice of entrees for dinner most nights. Rooms were mostly just for sleeping, but they were nice with enough storage and a big window. The crew seemed genuinely to love their jobs and cheerfully worked long hours in a fun but professional way. They ran the boat, briefed and ran the dives, took care of you on the dive deck, then poured your wine with dinner AND in their spare time, they shot stills and video and produced a very high quality DVD ($65) and a CD of photos (free). I loved it all. The boat was nice but the amazing Dancer crew was what made it truly special. Highly recommended. And for everything you get, not all that expensive.

Great Staff!

5 Star Rating

Visit Date: September 2010

I enjoyed the Sun Dancer II Sept 11-18th 2010 in warm sunny Belize. The staff are all wonderful people! We had excellent service and the chef was amazing with the creations she was able to create each day. The rooms were kept very clean and the towels were changed every few days. I loved the warm towels they kept in the ice chest for us when we exited the water, on a windy day it was a nice treat to have a warm towel. The sun deck was very large, with plenty of chairs and two hammocks to enjoy your surface intervals. We enjoyed local rum and coke products at no additional charge, if you request rum punch Barbara is a great one to ask, she enjoys making it for you!
