Visit Date: September 2012
I've dived in the caribbeans, like cozumel, bonnair, playa del carmen, cuba.I found the bermudas very disappointed in scuba diving.rating all my pass dives 1 to 10 ,I'd give a 1.and it's 3 times the price the other dives..We did the hermes, overrated,I've seen more interresting ship wrecks bach home in ontario in the st-lawrence river.for the second dive,at 15-20 feet because we don't wait enough time bethween dives was not much either. I found the corals with not much colors and not many fishes.
on the positive side, the staff is very friendly and useful.
Management Response
The captain discussed with everyone where they wanted to go and Denis wanted to do the wreck of the Hermes, which is one of our deeper wreck sites. He explained that this site was certainly deep, but not one of the more historic wrecks, nor is it a site known for an abundance of sea life. Also, three other divers had already been diving on this site and were keen to see something else. However, the captain obliged and took them to the Hermes.
The guides explained that they led a second dive of 30 minutes at Southwest Breaker - one of the most beautiful coral reef dives in our area. It was a shorter dive (we usually aim for 45-50 minutes, depth dependent of course) because guests expected to be back at the dock at 1pm in time for their next excursions, not because of a lack of interval time. The Hermes is deeper than most wrecks, she lies in 65-70 feet of water, neither terribly deep, nor were they down for a long period of time.
