Excellent experience
Visit Date: May 2009
We managed 20 dives each during a 3 week stay in May 2009. Paid £60 each to take own kit but other customers spoke highly of the new ScubaPro kit at the centre. They are very greatful for cylinder o rings so we always take some to leave where ever we travel.
Artero was a fantastic guide and we had very few repeat dives. Previously we had dived near Playa Pesquero and Guardalavaca sites were on the whole better.
Highlights were several large barracuda and many morays (green and spotted), a couple of the sites had resident black groupers 3.5 - 4 foot long - they like to escort and keep an eye on the divers. Alsp had two dives where we met a large (80-100lb ish) Cubera Snapper - big teeth!!
Best dives were labyrinth, caves (cave two entrance is at 40 meteres and cave 1 is really narrow) Despite the names they are really swim through tunnels - good bouyancy is needed though. The experience of diving dumped Russian tanks and anti aircraft guns was very cool thought vis left something to be desired. Fabulous people, lovely sites that are showing signs of recovery from Oct hurricane, good variety of fish though not as many as last year. If you want any more info feel free to make contact. Only down side was ladder - suggest booties and sea fins!!

we really enjoy our experience in the centre, the staff is very helpful and friendly, the sea is beautiful and we enjoyed every thing in there.
It is a very good experience, but be prepared for the limitations of the country the diving centre is well equipped and the rest is almost hotel based. You won't find much else around as they have plenty of limitations, do not expect to find luxuries and great night clubs as they do not have that much, but will recommend to go to Tropicana in la Havana
