One great week of diving
Visit Date: May 2012
My wife and I went for a weeks holiday in Grenada as part of a 19 week world tour. We decided to dive wth Dive Grenada and this was a brilliant decision on our part. We had booked 10 dives each and I (John) decided to do the night dive as well. The briefings for all the dives was excellent and attention to dive safety was paramount. The dive leaders, along with the staff and boat crew were excellent and we enjoyed so many laughs with them. Particularly impressive was the briefing for the night dive. My wife and I have dove on nearly 300 occasions and we rate this as one of the best dive centres we have had pleasure to dive with.

A great choice for diving on Grenada
Visit Date: February 2012
We dove for 10 days (13 dives) with Dive Grenada starting Feb 10th, 2012.
We're experienced (350 dives) warm and cold water divers and are both also underwater photographers —with all the additional concerns that entails. More details to follow, but the take-home message for those with short attention spans is that this is an excellent dive shop and we had a five star experience.
The owners, Phil and Helen, were easy to communicate with from the first email. The divemasters (Gary, Cojack, Pete and Phil) all were able to quickly assess our skill level and made sure that every dive was constructed to allow us all the time we needed to move slowly with our cameras (and I think they were impressed with just how slow that was!). Phil made sure the team communicated about all the important little details. The whole team was genuine, warm and always very helpful — just an impressive, enjoyable group to dive with. As an interesting aside, there was an advanced open water class doing their checkout dives that week and I noticed my husband sometimes eaves-dropping on Phil's dive briefings. My husband said he was really impressed by all the extra gems of wisdom that were sprinkled into those dive briefings. We hope those kids appreciated what a good and detail-oriented instructor Phil is! We learned a few things for free - you're never too old to learn.
A possible negative for some would be the lack of nitrox. Given the depth of some of the wrecks combined with repetitive diving, we had to be extra careful a few times to stay within no-decompression limits. It's a conscious decision that the dive shop made, and frankly, all the other pluses make this one potential inconvenience for nitrox-certified divers manageable.
I should mention that some photographers might want to know their dive boat does not have special camera facilities. My rig (Nikon D80 with 2 strobes) 'lived' beneath the boat captain's feet. However, the entire team knows how to handle and protect photo gear, so I quickly felt comfortable with the whole setup.
Take home message: Excellent dive shop, excellent service, and great diving (reef conditions, fish life, general diversity very good)

Where to start?...
Dive Grenada is probably the best Dive Shop/School we have ever dived with. The location is excellent, right at the end of Grand Anse Beach and on site to the Flamboyant Hotel.
Facilities: Dive Grenada have excellent rental equipment, full range of gear available including cameras and torches. We took our own gear but could see by the other divers hire gear that it is good quality and very well maintained. Obviously compressor on site and plenty of cylinders available. Wetsuits are also available. We actually left our gear at the dive shop every day instead of taking back to dry on the balcony, it was all dried and packed away every night and set up for us every morning!
Dive Boat: DG2 is well maintained, Raphie the skipper is unbelievably attentive. The boat is comfortable, fast and always there ready to pick you up as you surface. Easy to access by a ladder on the side, no one had any problems whilst we were there. The 'Bar' opens after a dive - Juice and Biscuits is a lovely touch.
Staff: Phil and Helen are fantastic - Not sure how anyone has had a negative experience. They are two of the most lovely people around. They will go out of their way to make sure your having an enjoyable time diving and in general on the island, with some great reccommendations! Cojack, Gary and Ricardo - They are so suited to their jobs, calm and relaxed - nothing is too much trouble for them. They looked after us extremely well on every single dive (and there were a lot!). At no point did we feel 'herded' like some other reviewers, safety is absolute paramount with these guys. At one point we were part of a group of 8 divers but we still enjoyed every second of our dives.
Diving: We did 24 dives over a 10 day period, including a night dive. We were consulted on a number of occasions to see if we wanted to do any particular dives - we pretty much left it up to these guys, they dive here everyday so know the best spots! We had a variety of Wrecks, Reefs and Deep all really enjoyable and so spectacular with marine life. As a photographer I found it really useful for the guide to search things out in front of me - especially on some of the strong drift dives.
Overall we couldn't have asked for a better experience diving with Dive Grenada. They are always looking to improve the way they do things and run everything better. In our view there is no other dive operator to use in grenada!

1st class Dive Centre
Visit Date: November 2011
Me and my wife spent 9 days diving with Dive Grenada having previously met Phil (one of the owners) at the NEC dive show where he is usually to be found at the Grenada Tourist Board stand.
Booking was very easy and all emails were answered quickly. For guests staying at the Flamboyant Hotel (as we did) things could not be more convenient as the dive center has a fabulous location at the hotel right on Grand Anse beach.
We did 16 dives and visited a different dive site every time and still only did half the dive sites that they have available. There is a great variety of reef, wreck, wall and drift dives to suit any level of experience.
The dive center is very well run and often have 2 dive guides per group, although groups are often small. All the staff are professional and friendly and make every effort to make sure you get the most out of each dive.
No short air fills or dives called early like some places.
Although we took all our own gear i did notice that all the rental gear looked quite new, very clean and is maintained on site.
If I get the chance to return to Grenada I would dive with dive Grenada again and would be happy to reccommend them to anybody.

We have dived with Dive Grenada several times. We wouldn't have gone back if they weren't really good. The gear is all of high standard and the staff are knowledgeable and helpful. They get as excited as us about seeing uncommon and unusual things and the reefs and wrecks are full of sealife so the "tap-tap-tap" to draw our attention is pretty much constant. Their primary objective is safety and we have seen some pretty poor practice at other dive schools but there is no chance of that at this dive centre. Also, the staff are a gas.....
