Had an amazing time doing my PADI open water course with the Borneo Dream team. Before we had even started the course they were very quick to respond to emails and queries and were always very helpful and informative. Overall it was a very well organised course with excellent and friendly staff. The boat and equipment we used was fantastic. We were joined with another lovely couple for our course so had a great small group with an Instructor and Dive master during every dive. Unlike most OPW courses for our enclosed water training dives we did this in the shallow waters of the beach instead of in a swimming pool which made it much more fun and realistic for our actual dive. For the lunch provided, they took us to a local restaurant on the islands we were diving from which was fantastic. On our final day our instructor took excellent photos of us all and sent them to us to keep. I would recommend this company to anyone and will hopefully be returning to complete my Advanced open water dive with them.

had a great time with the Borneo dream team. instructor was awesome and very helpful, took his time and showed lots and lots of patience with us both. saw amazing stuff even though visibility was very bad. we are planning to dive with them again in a few weeks.

Only had a couple of spare days to dive in kk.

Booked one days dive with borneo dreams from home - was quick and simple - with all the info i needed!

Once on the dive boat the guys were freindly and helpful - making me feel at ease - as i was pretty nervous as 1st time diving in a while!!

Enjoyed it so much - i managed to arrange the next days dive with them too!!

Amazing guys and company!! If i ever manage to get back to Borneo - i will be using these guys!!

In the past several years it has all become our usual vacation pattern to go for 2 - 3 diving holidays in a year - places like Mauritius, Hawaii, Fiji, Indonesia etc.. and last April - Palau. It's not just the sports itself and all these top diving paradise in the world, but the drinks and parties we had with friends after each diving day that have made each holiday so unique and memorable! Right after the visit to Palau in April, we immediately booked for another live-a-board there in December.....

The visit to Kota Kinabalu this month was not originally in our itineary this year and it was all inspired by the Action Diver magazine ("stole" from Cathay Pacific VIP lounge) and some very tempting package found from Air Asia. Discounting the "no-fly" limits in our 6 days trip there, we so planned to dive 4 days in Kota Kinabalu. Frankly, initial hesitation existed that diving in KK will not be living up to our expectation especially compared to places we have been to. Such hesitation was well communicated to Joanne of Borneo Dream (Being one of the cofounder) in email before we get there together with tonnes of web research... now I would say all these hesitations were all unneccesary!

After a very warm welcome by Richard (a very sweet Malaysian boy who was also our dive master for our 4 days trip), we were led to a very beautiful dual hull boat of Borneo Dream and off for our first dive in KK at a site called Edgell Patches inside the marinepark. Underwater visibility was excellent with surplus of soft and hard corals. Not long after we got into water, we saw a huge huge school of yellow tails (see pix) and yellow tail barracuda that was not a rare scene at all and we managed to greet them every morning in the next 3 days - this school of yellow tail came exceptionally huge on the 4th day of our trip seemed wanting to greet us good bye and I just played and swam by their side for 40 mins till my computer beepsss... SPECTACULAR!!

Other macro and micro marine life never come short in KK water either and not to mentioned here one by one about what we saw. Joanne joined our dive on the 3rd day (it was a Sunday), another perfect day for diving with crystal clear water, surplus marine animal - the usual school of yellow tail, barracuda, 3 huge octopus etc.. Like the rest of her team, Joanne was a very friendly person, unlimited topics to talk on and generouslly shared with us her life after moving to Sabah and tips for diving in other Sabah dive sites like Layang Layang, Sipandan etc..

We will soon work out another diving holiday in March/April next year and in my plan, that will either be Layang Layang or Sipandan. Understanding Joanne's knowledge and network in Sabah, it will definitely be one of the best options to do the booking through Borneo Dream again and may well take this opportunity to stop by and dive in KK again with Joanne, Richard and the rest of their team! - just can't wait!

This was my first time in Malaysia for some intensive diving and I was always treated with good mood and fun by all of the Borneo staff and even by the visiting former staff... :) The boat, equipment is all in good condition, and the layover islands with meals always reminded you of true Malaysian flair. I had a great time despite the then ongoing bad weather and can guarantee you will have a very fruitful and enjoyable time no matter if you are there for a longer course or just stopping by! Cheers
