Great to get wet
Visit Date: December 2008
Stayed at Jolly Beach Hotel and Jolly Dive was just along the beach, so they were the logical dive shop to use. Did 8 dives with them. No complaints, they were professional and the dive sites we went to were OK, but not exciting. Dived Lobster Ledge to 21 meters, saw quite a few barracuda and found a 5 kilo weight! Dived Pillars - plenty of fish. Next was First Palm and Monks Head. Interesting thing here was swimming through a school of squid? Or is it a shoal? Anyway, there were a lot of calamari. Rolfs Place & Mary Key were my final dives on my birthday and again, there were a lot of barracuda, a few lobsters and the usual congers on guard ready to pounce. Deepest dive was 23 meters. With a lot of the Caribbean, the waters appear to be fished out and you have long periods without seeing much. Maybe doing deeper dives would improve the quantity of fish or diving around wrecks.
