Seven world class dive sites lie off the coast of Menjangan Resort at Menjangan Island. This small, uninhabited island off the north west coast of Bali has been named one of the most spectacular coral reefs of Bali. Here at Menjangan, waters are clear and waves are minimal, ensuring one of the most delightful sets of conditions for diving or snorkeling in Bali.
Underwater sites range from sheltered and shallow coral gardens to vertical reef walls smothered with sea fans. From pygmy seahorses to schools of snappers, vivid gorgonians to reef sharks, sand banks with garden eels to magnificent formations of hard corals, Menjangan represents well the huge diversity of south east Asia’s coral reefs. Visibility is normally excellent, ranging from between 15 and 50 metres.
Menjangan Resort is the closest dive centre to Menjangan Island and is set within the boundaries of the West Bali National Park, ensuring a unique setting for your land-time.
We offer a boutique underwater experience, either snorkeling or diving and give personal and attentive service to ensure you find the experience you are looking for. Dive sites and conditions can be tailored to suit every level, from tranquil coral gardens for the beginner diver to strong current dives for the more experienced. We endeavour to bring guests to the island at the quietest times of day.
We recommend enhancing your underwater experience by diving or snorkeling with our in-house marine biologists who have excellent experience studying coral reefs.
Our PADI Dive Instructor can teach dive courses in English and French or give you the first taste of the underwater world with a Discovery Dive.
Our Balinese guides can also add to your experience at Menjangan Island by bringing you to the temples that are of prime significance to the Balinese Hindu mythology.
If you’re coming to Bali to experience its coral reefs, you cannot find a better place than Menjangan Island or a resort more dedicated to the environment than Menjangan Resort. Come discover the other side of Bali.
You have no idea about all that you´re been missing underwater on a night dive, you'll find a different and very colorful reef where we see the parrot fish having a nap, amazing octopus changing their colors, crabs, eels, lobsters and many other marine life eating. You got to do it!!!

Beautiful diving at Menjangan Resort
Visit Date: April 2009
I have just come back from an amazing dive trip in Bali. I stayed at the Menjangan Resort which makes the land-time really amazing because your'e in sleeping in a national park forest reserve where the birds go nuts and there are deers and shy monkeys all over. They have a really nice dive shop there where they don't go in for big numbers but take really good care of what you want to do. In other words personal service which is something I've found hard to come by in recent years. They have little houses on stilts over the water in the mangroves where you can sleep - I split my time between the forest adn the mangroves and it was great. They take you to Menjangan Island, or else you can just dive right off their beach which has a really nice wall (I love it when you can dive without all the boat palava!) Anyway, I just can't recommend this place highly enough. It makes Bali an even more amazing place to go to.

Bali treasure

I dived at Menjangan Island with the Menjangan Resort dive team. Their dive shop is called ‘Sentigi’ which means special, and I have to say, it all felt pretty special to me! They gave me a very personalized service, taking really good care of me and my friend. We spent two days diving at Menjangan Island and the reef was pretty incredible. I had heard that it was the best diving in Bali but I didn’t honestly expect anything like this. The walls are beautiful with massive sea fans and a huge variety of soft corals. We did one dive in quite strong current, starting in what’s called the Eel Garden, then moving up to these bright rainbow bommies covered in anthias and all sorts. We saw mackerel, trevally, cuttlefish. There seems to be something for everyone out at Menjangan Island – all levels of diving and all levels of interest. I thoroughly recommend the Menjangan Resort dive team because they are dealing with smaller numbers and pay really good attention to their guests. And their dive staff have huge experience in conservation which adds to the underwater experience. The only down-side with Menjangan Island is the amount of plastic washed up on the beaches. It’s a real shame to see such a beautiful island that’s supposed to be a National Park neglected like that.

Great for beginners

I had never dived before Menjangan. I must admit I was a little nervous but as it was something I had always wanted to do I decided to give it a go. And I haven't looked back. What a beautiful spot to learn, so clean and such a vibrant underwater eco system. The staff were great, really patient and understanding. They were expert divers and having dived all over the world they had some great stories! I am already looking forward to my next dive!

Beautiful Diving
Visit Date: February 2009
well as many of the serious divers know menjangan island is a must, its said by most to be the best diving on Bali. I was very impressed. I went by local boat twice, and on the last day there was some other guests who joined in and we went by Phinisi, now that's diving.
in summary, lovely area, the resort staff were great, the dive staff are amazing, it was amazing!. We stayed 2 nights in the jungle, and one night in our gazebo over the water. it was great, but be prepared to be wake up for the sunrise, cos it will be in your eyes no matter what. still i could think of worse things to wake up to... there was no noise, no Sounds, just the water. and of course great diving
