I can only think of one word to describe my experience with Tony, and that is FABULOUS. Tony is a great combination of laid back and professional. Could not have asked for a better dive leader.

None Better in Cozumel.

5 Star Rating

Visit Date: April 2010

My wife and I have been diving in Cozumel now for around seven years. The first trip we used one of the "Biggest" outfits. The boat had around twenty divers. There was one dive master for a group of five. When we got in the water, I had trouble equiliziling. I got left behind! This was the second time we used the "Big" dive outfits, and this was the second time we had trouble! (The first was in Key Largo. They did not secure my tank on my BCD and it floated!) Enough already! I did some research and tried to find an outfit that had what we were looking for;1. Safe boat.2. Knowledgable staff. 3. I am the customer! We found it with Scubatony! Tony runs the best outfit on Cozumel period! Carlos, his captain, has forgotten more about the dive sites in Cozumel that most captain's know! He runs a great, safe, clean boat. He can just look in the water and tell which way the current is running. He serves you fresh fruit and cold drinks during the diving trip. The boat even went "Green" in serving you water in take home bottles so you don't throw away plastic bottles that end up in either a landfill of worse yet, in the water! Tony and his staff figure out what your level of expertise is and offer suggestions on where to go.The dive briefings are always spot on and focused on safety. In other words, they treat you like a valued customer, instead of a number. It's not like , hurry up and lets get these people wet so we can get another group out. Tony and his staff are VERY patient and make you feel real comfortable. I have never had a bad dive with Tony.If you dive multiple days, they even let you leave your gear on the boat and have it clean and ready to go the next day! Try that with some of the other outfits. We have stopped diving in the Atlantic Ocean where we live because it just does not measure up to what we get with Tony in Cozumel. You can get some great Cozumel dive packages etc... Try going out on your own, rent a car, find a nice place to stay, and give Tony a call. You will not be disapointed! Oh by the way, Carlos never hooked up my gear and it floated and I have never been left behind!

Visit Date: April 2010

My wife and I spent a week diving with this operation. 10 days, 2 nights and an excelent referral dive to the mainland cenotes. Tony, Mario, Jason and Capt of the Boat Carlos offer a flexible, safe and exciting dive service parralled by NONE! in Cozumel. The boat is clean and fast, max of 6 divers per trip. Divemasters have thoughtful and diver specific briefings on each dive location. Capt Carlos - there is no other, assist divers in and out, fresh fruit and snacks for SI and you will never surface without the boat within 50-75' of you providing for surfacing safety from the other cattle boats in the area. We dove 10 different locations in a week and only one time did we have another boat on our reef and they were snorklers. There is a saying aboard, I am Tony - This is ScubaTony Dive Center and I deliver the "WOW". This is truely the case, owner, operator, diver and ture family type run operation. You will not be dissapointed with the service - so get on aboard with Scuba Tony and learn the "WOW" of Cozumel diving

Excellent Personal & Professional Service

5 Star Rating

Visit Date: April 2010

We dived with scubatony based upon an earlier review and were not disappointed. Tony offers something very different to your typical large scale dive operator; personal service and choice of a dive site that specifically suits you and the abilities of your group.

We are a family of four including two children of 14 and 13 both of whom are competent divers and wanted to wall dive, do a deep blue entry and see sharks and we did all of that and more. My favourite was Santa Rosa Wall with wonderful contrasts between the white sand, coral and deep blue sea not to mention the ample sea life and swim throughs.

Tony runs a small operation with one boat (bimini cover and over side entry and exit) and takes a maximum of 6 divers at a time with just about all dives being drift dives as is standard in Cozumel. Tony is very friendly, professional and knowledgeable and has an able deputy in Jason. Carlos, the boat captain, is also very friendly, good with the lasso (for mooring)… and provides a fresh fruit platter and drinks between dives. Book early – Tony is popular and we were lucky to get a cancellation.

We only dived for two days, but if/when we return to Cozumel then we will dive more and just with Tony. We also enjoyed tying up to an old jetty on a remote beach for our surface interval – very relaxing and we were given the choice of this or a beach club to while-away the time.

A word of caution if staying at the Iberostar Cozumel, you will need to wade out to Tony’s boat as the hotel charges monthly dock fees, regardless of usage, for non in-house operators and this is not sustainable for an operation the size of scubatony.

Outstanding Experience!!!

5 Star Rating

Visit Date: February 2010

First to start it was a pleasure to dive with Tony's operation on 2/7 to 2/10

This was my 3rd trip to the island since last March and previously had been diving with the resort operators and although the experience was great , I wanted to try something more personal and WOW did I ever get that with Scuba Tony and the awesome team of Dennis and Carlos. Dennis even offered to shoot us a recap of the dive profiles after our trip was over!!

The communication process was quick and efficient, the boat arrived right on time each day and Dennis and Carlos made me feel as though we were old friends right from the start .

Day 1

There were two of us diving that day ( Big shout out to Bret) and Dennis reviewed our expectations and set the dive plan - Punta Delila/ Erics Reef and Paso del Cedral - both dives filled with some of the largest angel varieties I had ever seen and just tons of life on both dives... and ...turtles...lots of turtles . After the dive Dennis drove down to my hotel and presented me with a cell phone and told me if I needed anything... he was a phone call away!!

Once your gear is on boat (its a fast boat) the only thing you need to attend to is snapping your buckles and doing your safety check because Carlos has already changed tanks, verified your equipment, defogged your mask and placed your rig on your back!!

Surface intervals are a real joy as well with a warm water shower, lots of really fresh fruit, snack bars and your choice of beverage - hot or cold including your own personal "ScubaTony" water bottle filled with cold ice water! Each surface interval took place either at one of the many beach clubs or a secluded area that you would never know existed with breathtaking views that can only be described as surreal - beats the heck out of bumping against other divers on big boats scrambling to get your gear ready and being rushed

Day 2

Dennis and Carlos took us to two of my favorite dive spots - Palancar Gardens and La Francesa - We also had Tony on board with two really nice folks from Colorado who were doing a discover scuba and prior to the dive we pulled into a nice shallow area where Tony took both divers and carefully and patiently went back over basic skills and then off we went - I should note that the two discover divers glided just above us and both of their dives were nearly 50 minutes and that says a lot about Tony taking the time with both of them prior to the dive to get such good air consumption on their first ever dives - Again tons and tons of incredible life and more turtles - Did I mention that after the first day Dennis took my mask home and fixed its pesky problem of fogging up!

Day 3

Dennis sat down with the two us and asked how we would feel about doing a more challenging dive based off his observations of our skills during the first two days - Off to Palancar Bricks - My first time at this site and I was just blown away - ancient beauty from start to finish - then another incredible surface interval and our second dive was the beautiful and always relaxing Columbia shallows - more turtles again and even an adventurous octopus and big bad brave lobster moving around the reef like a king!! Rare for the daytime

Days 3 and 4 we also had a fine young man from Paris with us who was free diving - Its was really cool to see him do such deep and graceful drops from time to time

Day 4

This was not supposed to happen as I was going to take a day and let my gear dry prior to leaving , but after such awesome diving I could not sit at the resort on my final day wishing I was back with "the guys" So once again Dennis sat with us and suggested doing Santa Rosa wall ( I have to admit with only 70 dives under my belt , I was nervous)

Into the dive we went and as with each dive Dennis kept a close eye on us and pointing out magnificent panoramas and not to be missed formations and wildlife - absolutely breathtaking - Dive two was Punta Tunich and although the currents were a bit funky we still saw lots of fantastic life and just to our left a spotted eagle ray cruised by - It was a great dive to end my vacation

I am already planning a trip back in June or July and without doubt will be calling on the " white glove " services of Scuba Tony, Dennis and Carlos
