Good and Bad experience
Visit Date: April 2010
I read many good review of Thailand Diver so I decided to go with them for my diving trip in Phuket. I took 2 days trip with 6 dives. On the first day, I was not appreciate the Dive Master; Rory as he was a bit lazy to give us the brief. He did not tell us much of the dive brief and did not well prepared. On the 2nd dive, he kept us waiting for him to change his tank as he just realized a sec before diving into the sea that his tank was nearly empty!!!
On the 2nd day, I was quite happy to have Martin, Dive Instructor as a Dive Leader. He is well experience and gave us well brief. He leaded to the interesting dive spots. I really enjoyed diving with him.
Their boat is great as there's A/C room on the lower desk. The boat staff is very helpful. There were not many people on the boat so you have ample space to relax. They have free cold soft drink can for everyone. The food was good.

One of the best decisions I have ever made
Visit Date: April 2010
Having read good reviews about Thailand Divers, I decided to try them, as they were close to our hotel on Patong Beach. Our arrival at the hotel was late at night and the lady was great, as she waited until 10.00pm for us to sign our PADI O/W documentation. Everything was included and the price was slightly cheaper than other dive centers. No hassle and also, I realized that other dive shops only offer a mix of beach dive on a 2nd day and a sea dive on a 3rd day (total of 4 dives). We were so glad that Thailand Diver offered 2 dives at Racha Noi Island on the 2nd day after pool training and 3 different diving sites at Phi Phi Islands (total of 5 dives). We get to see the best of the diving sites for our level while learning. The boat was clean and well-maintained with trained crews and lots of oxygen tanks. Breakfast and lunch was served on the boat for free. Also, the class size is small to ensure that all learner was paid special attention to (Max 4 per instructor). Not to mention that our diving instructor, Martin Burman, was excellent! He always ensure safety first and made learning fun. He has years of experience and very passionate with what he does, which makes a huge difference. It was our first time diving and i was glad I chose Thailand Divers. On the boat, I also got to meet so many interesting other experienced divers from all around the world. Whether you're an experienced diver or a first time diver, I would highly highly recommend going to Thailand Diver for all your diving needs. I was very satisfied and I thought I should share the review with other divers the way it helped me made my decision to go to Thailand Diver. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! NO HIDDEN FEES, HIGH CALIBER INSTRUCTOR, WELL-MAINTAINED BOAT, EXCELLENT DIVING SITES CHOICE, FUN, AND NO HASSLE, MONEY WELL SPENT!!!!

Thailand divers is the best!

Thailand Divers are awesome!! Charlie is a great guy and in one hit we did three dives. Firstly, we did two dives at Koh Phi Phi where the visibility was great and on to do a wall dive at Koh Doc Mai, which was cool. We used flashlights to examine all the sea life tucked in to the wall. Equipment is great, boat crew are great and Terry, our DM was awesome!! He is extremely helpful and knowledgeable in all respects. Everything about our experience with Thailand Divers was great and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone traveling to Phuket

A good place to start my diving exerience

When I made my booking to Thailand, I decided that I wanted to try out some diving. In my research, I had narrowed down the dive centers to two in Phuket. On my first night in Patong, I visited Thailand Divers and I was very impressed with the staff that I met and therefore made my Open Water course booking. The instructor was great and he took his time over a couple of issues that I had. Whilst there, I managed five dives and one thing to point out is the boat. They own it, so there are less divers onboard and I believe you are treated a lot better. For me, there was one downside, which was the fact that we visited the same island two days running and it would have been nice to go to a different loaction, but perhaps that was down to my Phuket time schedule.

I must state that I really enjoyed diving with this company, or rather the instructors of this company. My instructor Terry was great, made us feel comfortable underwater and didn't do anything until we were capable and comfortable.
They took us to some good dive spots and the food on the boat was awesome. I recommend Phi Phi (specifically Koh Dok Mai) over Racha Noi/Racha Yai.
I found the team at the dive store great until they informed us of their refund policy after we needed a refund. My girlfriend got an ear infection and when she went to the store they told us there is nothing they can do.
They wont tell you, so I might as well do it. All that needed to be said was:
"If you are sick, or feeling uncomfortable about diving, you need to let us know by 6pm the day prior to diving, otherwise you wont be eligible for a refund"
The "refund" is actually 75% of the value.
They tried to tell me that it was "too hard" to tell you about the refund policy (from a sales point of view) because there was already too much to say. I find this poor form. My friend is an instructor here in Melbourne and at his dive store they do not have this policy. Neither do other stores here. They also tried to tell me that "I should know", which i also don't agree with.
If you get drunk and are two hung over to dive the next day, I don't believe you should get a refund. However, if you are genuinely sick or are in an accident, then why should you loose even more?
You go, you pay, you don't go, you pay, welcome to Thailand.
I'd like to add that there was a guy in the shop from another dive company and he said that "we inform our customers of the policy" - wanted to add that as I remembered.
Apparently this "your screwed either way" policy applies to all Thailand dive stores and shops.
My 3 stars go to the instructors and the dive sites.
I also added a rough date of when I went.
