Not knowing what to expect of the vizability after Yasi had been doing some nasty stuff we went to SWR to see the raggies... AND WE DID!!!

Good diving, good boat and good crew.

We are still thankfull for finding our camera back and hope you enjoyed the "thank-you-chiken" ;oD !!!

South West Rocks Dive Centre is an easy going dive centre with their own (bunk style) accommodation.

We looked at their website and decided to contact them for a group trip a couple of months later. They offered us a really good package deal (4 days, 8 boat + unlimited shore and night diving and accommodation) for a very reasonable price.

The day before we drove up, we got a call from them that the weather wasn't looking very good for the upcoming days and that if we could, we should postpone the trip as we weren't sure to get any dives in over the next couple of days. We couldn't cancel so decided to drive up anyway and weren't dissappointed!!

The weather wasn't great (quite choppy), but good enough to take the boats out and the diving was phenomenal! Grey nurse sharks, wobbegongs, lion fish, turtles, Queensland gropers, sea spiders, etc. - unbelievable!

We dived Fish Rock Cave a couple of times (even the guy with only 10 dives and just OW certification was allowed to do it!) and were amazed by the amount of marine life in and around the cave every single time.

Unfortunately we weren't able to do any shore diving, as the river washed out into sea because of heavy rain fall, and we couldn't dive the last day because of heavy winds, but the 6 boat dives that we did were absolutely great. The divemasters could be a little less macho, but I guess that's all part of it.

Great diving, great dive centre and superbasic but clean accommodation!
