Me (PADI advanced open water certified) and my non-diving wife were looking for a compromise in the Sipadan, Borneo, Malaysia region where I could dive at interesting places (and possibly at Sipadan) and she could enjoy a very relaxing few days combined with great snorkelling and SPA massages. We found Pom Pom island on Trip Advisor where it was highly rated and were actually blown away by how much better it was then all the reviews and by what we got out of our stay there. We both HIGHLY recommend to any couple with a diving / non-diving partner mix.

I was able to perfect my diving skills with a dedicated, patient and amazing PADI trainer Andy by doing my PADI specialities PPB and my Deep 40m and I was also able to enjoy a marine life session with the local Pom Pom marine biologist in around the Pom Pom house reef and many other dives in and around Pom Pom.

To top it all off, I was especially ecstatic and beyond belief happy to be able to go to Sipadan for a full day of 3 dives on our last day at Pom Pom. My wife on the other hand, had a fully occupied 5 days where she relaxed, enjoyed amazing SPA sessions, snorkelling trips and amazing food and staff just made this experience the best resort so far in our book.

Long story short, this was an AMAZING 6 days we spent in this region and we strongly recommend Pom Pom island to anyone looking for an amazing time in the Borneo / Sipadan region.
