The diversity and volume of life is amazing, with over 11,000 miles of coastline, bays, coves and reef systems that teem with marine life.  You can see whales, such as the large Humpbacks to the sleek and beautiful Orca or killer whale), seals and sea lions; hundreds of species of fish; and incredibly colourful invertebrates which literally carpet the rocky walls.

Alaska is one of two U.S. states not bordered by another state, Hawaii being the other. Alaska has more coastline than all the other U.S. states combined.  The geographic area of Alaska is larger than Britain, France, Italy and Spain combined.
